What is the Search With Pride Pledge?

 3-minute read  ·  Updated October 2026

Short answerThe Search With Pride Pledge is the commitment every agent makes when they join: to treat every client with dignity and respect, to give LGBTQ+ people and allies welcoming, professional service, and to follow Fair Housing laws. It's a promise agents make, not a rating or a certification. We also check each agent's real estate license before their profile is published.

The three commitments

Dignity & respect. I treat every client with dignity and respect, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, relationship or family structure, or other protected characteristics.

Welcoming & professional service. I provide LGBTQ+ people and allies the same professional service, care, communication and advocacy expected for every client, while respecting how each person identifies and chooses to live.

Fair Housing. I follow Fair Housing laws and principles and never steer, discriminate, or make assumptions about where someone should live based on who they are.

Every agent also confirms that their license is active and their profile is accurate, and understands their profile can be removed if they stop meeting these commitments. Read the full pledge.

What we check

  • An active real estate license. Before a profile is published, we look the agent up on their state’s licensing record and confirm the license is active and in their name. We check again when it comes up for renewal.

  • The pledge. Each agent agrees to the pledge on the site before their profile goes live.

  • A real email address. Agents confirm their email before their profile can go live.

  • The bio. A person reads each bio before it goes live, so a profile describes the agent’s work, never who a neighborhood is “for.”

What the pledge does not mean

  • It isn’t a rating. It doesn’t measure an agent’s skill. It’s a commitment about how they treat the people who come to them.

  • It doesn’t label anyone’s identity. Agents describe themselves in their own words, as LGBTQ+ community members or allies, and we show it as “Self-described.”

  • Featured is a paid placement (free for our first 100 Founding Agents). Every agent, Featured or not, agrees to the same pledge.

Common questions

Does every agent agree to the pledge?Yes. Every agent agrees to it before their profile is published, and nothing an agent edits on their profile changes that.

Is the pledge a rating or a certification? No. It's a commitment agents make to take part, not a rating of their skill. Separately, we check each agent's real estate license before their profile is published, and again when it comes up for renewal.

Does Featured mean better? No. Featured is a paid placement. Every agent, Featured or not, agrees to the same pledge.

What if an agent doesn't keep the pledge, or their information looks wrong?Email info@searchwithpride.com and we'll look into it. A profile can be paused or removed if an agent stops meeting the commitments.
