Search With Pride
Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026 · Last updated October 10, 2026
The short version
- Buying or selling a home? Browsing is anonymous. We collect information from you only when you ask us to introduce you to an agent — your name, how to reach you and what you told us about your move — and we share it only with the one agent you chose.
- Applying to be listed as an agent? We collect what your public profile needs, plus your license details so we can check them.
- Pronouns and whether you are joining as an LGBTQ+ community member or an ally are optional. If you fill them in they appear on your public profile — that is their whole purpose. You can have them taken off any time.
- We never sell personal information, and we never use anyone’s LGBTQ+ identity for advertising. We advertise for agents on Google and Meta, and we measure those ads on one page — the agent signup page. Nothing about who you are is sent to them. See sections 07 and 08.
01 Who we are
Search With Pride, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, operates searchwithpride.com, a national directory of LGBTQ+ and ally real estate agents. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that company.
- Email: info@searchwithpride.com
- Postal address: 1645 W Broad St #4278, Richmond, VA 23220
This policy covers searchwithpride.com. It does not cover the agents listed on it — each agent and brokerage handles your information under their own policies once you contact them.
02 If you are buying or selling a home
Browsing needs no account and no sign-up, and we collect nothing about you while you do it. We collect information from you in one place: when you choose an agent from your matches and ask us to introduce you.
- What we collect then. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, where you are moving to, the kind of move, and the note you write to the agent (it starts out as what you typed to get your matches). Nothing else.
- Where it goes. To the one agent you chose, and to us. We never send your inquiry to more than one agent, we never sell it, and we never add you to a marketing list. Wix, our website host, stores it on our behalf.
- Why we keep it. So the agent can reach you, so we can check that they did, and, if that introduction leads to a closed sale, so the agent’s brokerage can pay us a referral fee. The fee is paid by the brokerage, never by you, and it does not change which agents you were shown. How matching works explains it in full.
- Follow-up from us. With your permission we may check in by email after an introduction to ask how it went. You can tell us to stop at any time by replying or by writing to info@searchwithpride.com. We will not text you unless you have opted in to texts.
- How long. We keep an introduction record for twelve months, the term of the referral agreement, and then only as long as the law requires us to keep a record of any fee. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time (section 09); we may keep a minimal note that an introduction took place.
- Contacting an agent directly. When you email an agent from their profile, you write from your own mail app. That message goes to the agent. We never see it, and we are not copied on it.
- The city or state you type into the directory, and what you type to get your matches, are sent to our website host to find agents. Neither is stored against you or used to build a profile of you unless you go on to request an introduction.
- No advertising or analytics code runs on the pages you use. The home page, Match, the directory, and every agent profile carry none. The one page that does is the agent signup page, which is there for real estate professionals applying to be listed — see section 07.
- Our host keeps standard web server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. See section 07.
Fair Housing. We never ask you about race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity, and nothing about who you are is used to match you or rank agents. Anything of that kind you choose to write in your own note goes to the agent you picked exactly as you wrote it and is never turned into a field, a filter or a matching signal. We do not steer. We connect people to agents, not to or away from neighborhoods.
03 If you are an agent applying to be listed
The agent signup form collects information from you: your profile details, your license details, and your signature on our Search With Pride Pledge. You can edit most of it later in your agent portal.
Each line below shows the field, whether it is required, and whether it appears on your public profile.
- Full name — Yes. Published.
- Email address — Yes. Published, as your contact link.
- Phone number — Yes. Published only if you choose to show it; otherwise we use it to reach you.
- City and state — Yes. Published.
- Brokerage — Yes. Published.
- Pronouns — Optional. Published.
- I am joining as — Optional. Published.
- Specialties — Optional. Published.
- Experience with — Optional. Published.
- Other states you’re licensed in — Optional. Published once we have checked them.
- Languages — Optional. Published.
- Short bio — Optional. Published.
- Headshot — Optional. Published.
- License details, pledge, signature — Yes, to be listed. Not published — only a “License checked” line and its month are.
Anything marked optional can be left blank. Leaving it blank has no effect on whether you are listed or where you appear.
Not an agent? The home pros waitlist. If you are a lender, inspector or other home professional and join the waitlist to be listed on Search With Pride, we keep your email address, what you do and your main state. We use them only to tell you when home pros can join. We never sell or share them, and you can ask us to remove you at any time by writing to info@searchwithpride.com.
04 Sensitive information — please read this one
Your pronouns, and whether you are joining as an LGBTQ+ community member or an ally, can reveal your gender identity or sexual orientation. Most state privacy laws, and the GDPR, treat that as sensitive personal data that we may only process with your consent. We take that seriously, so here is exactly how it works.
- Every one of those fields is optional. “Prefer not to say” is a real answer, and so is leaving it empty.
- If you fill them in, they are published on your public profile. That is their only purpose — helping someone find an agent who will understand them. They are not stored quietly in the background.
- Submitting the form is how you consent to us publishing them.
- You can withdraw that consent at any time. Email info@searchwithpride.com and we will remove those fields from your profile and our records, within 15 days.
- We never infer any of this about anyone. We do not buy it, we do not guess it from a name or a photo, and we never ask consumers about it at all.
- We never sell it, and we never use it for advertising. We do advertise this site on Google and Meta to reach agents like you. Your pronouns, your “joining as” answer, your words and your bio are never sent to those platforms, never attached to an ad event, and never used to build an audience or a lookalike. We do not target anyone — agent or consumer — on sexual orientation or gender identity, and both platforms prohibit it too. Section 08 has the detail.
If you would rather be listed without any of it, you can be. A profile with no pronouns and no “joining as” is a complete profile.
05 What we do with agent information
- Publish your profile in the directory.
- Check your license and your signed pledge before you are listed, and keep that check current.
- Contact you about your listing, and pass along inquiries and referrals that come to us for you.
- Keep the directory accurate — correcting details, removing listings that lapse.
We don’t use agent information to build advertising audiences, and we don’t feed it to anyone else’s. The agent database is never uploaded to Google or Meta, and is never used to seed a custom audience or a lookalike audience.
06 Who we share it with
- The public — everything marked Published in section 03. That is the point of a directory.
- Wix — our website host and database provider. Wix stores the site and the agent records and sends our automated email on our behalf, as our service provider.
- If you request an introduction — the one agent you chose, who receives your name, your contact details and your note, and nobody else.
- People who contact you — your published email address, which is how they reach you.
- Google and Meta — but only on the agent signup page, and only that an application was started or completed. Never who you are, never what you selected. Section 07 sets out exactly what they do and don’t receive.
- Law enforcement or regulators — only where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information. We never have and we don’t intend to.
Some state privacy laws treat loading an advertising tag — even one that carries no personal detail — as “sharing for targeted advertising,” which you have a right to opt out of. Section 08 tells you how, and we honor that signal on every page.
07 Cookies, analytics and advertising
On every page. Wix, our host, sets a small number of cookies that make the site work. As of September 15, 2026, that is:
- XSRF-TOKEN — security; stops forged requests.
- bSession — identifies a browsing session.
- ssr-caching — records how the page was served, for speed.
- fedops.logger.sessionId — stored in your browser, for error and performance logging.
None of those are advertising cookies, none follow you to other websites, and none can be switched off without breaking the site.
On the agent signup page only. We advertise Search With Pride on Google and on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to reach real estate agents who might want to be listed. To know whether those ads are working, that one page carries Google Ads conversion measurement and the Meta pixel. They tell us that an application was started or completed. They do not tell us who did it, and we do not tell them.
Specifically, we never send Google or Meta:
- your pronouns, or your answer to “I’m joining as”;
- your name, email, phone, brokerage, bio, headshot or license details;
- anything else you typed into the form.
The page address itself carries nothing about you either — there is no identity in the URL for a tag to pick up.
Nowhere else. The home page, the directory, every agent profile and this policy carry no advertising or analytics code at all. If you are here to find an agent, no ad platform hears about it from us.
If that ever changes, we will say so on this page, with a date, before it changes — not after.
08 Targeted advertising, and how to opt out
We never advertise on the basis of who you are. We do not target ads by sexual orientation, gender identity, race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin or disability — not to agents and not to consumers. Housing advertising in particular is bound by the Fair Housing Act, and we hold our recruitment advertising to the same line. Our ads reach broad professional audiences and let people decide for themselves whether we’re for them.
Nothing sensitive is ever used to build an audience. We do not upload the agent database to any ad platform, and we never create custom or lookalike audiences from it. Google’s and Meta’s own rules prohibit sending them sensitive personal data, and we treat that as a floor, not a ceiling.
Your choices. No advertising or analytics tag runs anywhere on this site today, so there is nothing non-essential to consent to and no cookie banner to dismiss. Before any advertising tag is added to the agent signup page, we will put a consent control in front of it: decline and the tag does not load. The form works exactly the same either way, and your application is treated identically.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of targeted advertising, on every page, without you having to do anything else.
- Change your mind. Use the Do Not Sell My Personal Information control in the footer of any page, or email info@searchwithpride.com and we will handle it for you.
- At the source. You can also limit ad personalization directly at Google My Ad Center and in your Meta ad preferences, which covers you across every site, not just ours.
We won’t treat you differently for opting out. You’ll see the same site, the same agents and the same order.
09 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, withdraw consent for sensitive data, and appeal if we turn a request down.
To exercise any of these, email info@searchwithpride.com. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying, and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days.
We will not charge you for a reasonable request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
10 Removing your listing
Email us and we will take your profile down and delete your record. We keep a minimal note that a license check took place and when, so we can answer questions about our own process — nothing from the optional fields, and no copy of your bio or headshot.
11 Email we send you
- An acknowledgment when you apply, and messages about your own listing.
- If you requested an introduction: a confirmation, and, with your permission, a check-in or two on how it went.
- Occasional news about Search With Pride. Every one carries an unsubscribe link and our postal address, and we act on unsubscribes within 10 business days.
We do not sell or rent your email address to anyone.
12 Security
The site runs over HTTPS on Wix infrastructure, and access to agent records is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that nothing will ever go wrong — but we will tell you promptly if something does.
13 Children
This site is for real estate professionals and adults looking for one. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
14 Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle agent information, we will email listed agents rather than leave you to notice it.
